Antonio Rudiger Set to Leave Chelsea and Unlikely to Sign New Contract

According to rumors, Antonio Rudiger is expected to depart Chelsea on a free transfer next summer.

The 28-year-contract old’s is slated to expire at the end of the season, and negotiations for a new deal have come to a halt. Rudiger wants roughly £200,000 per week, but the Blues are only ready to provide £150,000 per week at the moment.

Rudiger is content in west London, but time is running out for the club to reach an agreement with the central defender, who has become a key member of Thomas Tuchel’s defense.

If Chelsea has not finalized a new deal by January 1, he will be allowed to talk to international teams, and clubs will continue to watch his development.

Rudiger is unlikely to remain beyond next summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who says: “It’s tough to imagine him signing a new deal.”

Real Madrid has been connected with the German, while PSG, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City, according to Di Marzio, are also intrigued and have had negotiations.

“Rüdiger is in talks with Juventus, Man City, Tottenham and even PSG, who still need a defender,” he added. “He will join one of the four teams.”

Bayern Munich have also been attributed with interest in Rudiger, which has honoured the Chelsea defender but he remains focused on his time at Stamford Bridge.

“The interest honours me. That shows that I’ve done a few things right recently.

“But I don’t let myself be distracted. I have an obligation to my club to perform well. I have to prove myself every game and not let myself be distracted by rumours. I make my decisions for myself. They don’t depend on anyone. I feel good where I am.
