Arsenal can sign £81m star better than Jack Grealish

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, and Wilshere has now claimed that he is a better player than Jack Grealish.

Jack Wilshere believes that Raheem Sterling, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, is currently a better player than Jack Grealish.

The Daily Star reported last month that the north London club is ‘keeping tabs’ on Sterling, who has less than two years left on his Manchester City contract.

The 26-year-old, who is valued at £81 million on Transfermarkt, has only made three Premier League starts under Pep Guardiola this season, and with the England international approaching a critical stage in his career, he has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in order to get more consistent minutes.

The form of Grealish, who City paid £100 million for in the summer transfer window, is one of the reasons Sterling’s game time has been limited this season.

In an interview with talkSPORT, former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere claimed that while Grealish has the potential to become a better player than Sterling, the latter is currently the better player.

“I believe Grealish has the potential to be better than Sterling, but I believe Sterling’s number and consistency over the last couple of years, and with everyone doubting him all the time – for reasons I don’t understand – I’m going to have to go for him,” he said.

Sterling has been linked with a move away from Manchester City since the summer due to his personal dissatisfaction with the Premier League champions, and he admitted last month that he would be willing to leave the Etihad Stadium to get more game time.

“At this point in time, if there was an opportunity to go somewhere else, I would be open to it,” Sterling told Eurosport.

“As I previously stated, football is the most important thing to me – challenges that I have set for myself since I was a child, as well as dreams of playing abroad.

“As an English player, all I know is the Premier League, and I’ve always had it in the back of my mind that one day I’d like to play abroad to see how I’d fair against a different challenge.”

Guardiola recently addressed Sterling’s future, telling the former Liverpool winger precisely what he needed to do to advance in the City pecking order.

“Are you aware of how many fantastic victories we’ve enjoyed in recent seasons?” Without Raheem, it’s impossible,” Guardiola stated in September.

“He set a very high bar for himself, and I have to convince him that this is the standard we need for you, for all of us.”

“And I’m certain he’ll understand. He will accomplish it if he is capable of doing so. And I’m certain that he’ll have a fantastic season.”
