Arsenal meet officials ‘to discuss the nuts and bots’ of massive £68 million transfer deal

Officials from Arsenal and Fiorentina met in London this week to discuss the mechanics and bolts of a prospective trade for Dusan Vlahovic, a 21-year-old striker.

After a poor start to the season, the Gunners are looking well this season, but Mikel Arteta must realize that he still needs to add another striker to his attack, particularly with Alexandre Lacazette seeming like he’ll be leaving.

And this has fueled rumours that Wenger is desperate to sign Vlahovic after the massive centre-forward became the buzz of Serie A after scoring 25 league goals in 2021, more than any other player in the competition.

Last season, the Serbian international, who was born in 2000, scored 21 goals in 37 appearances in Serie A, and he’s been in good form since the start of the current campaign.

Arsenal are boosting up their attempts to win the contest for Vlahovic, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia.

Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone and Daniele Prade are said to have met with Arsenal officials in London this week to explore a possible transfer.

Fiorentina is said to have informed Arsenal that they required £68 million (€80 million) in order to agree to a sale, and the Gunners were prepared to comply, as long as they could get the money via add-ons.

Why not spend £68 million and acquire Erling Haaland at the conclusion of the season if the Gunners are ready to pay that much for a transfer deal for this young man?

The Gunners are in desperate need of a striker right now, but we doubt they will make any moves in the January transfer window.
