Due to interest from previous club Arsenal, Liverpool striker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may be forced to leave the Merseyside club. In 2017, the England international joined Liverpool and had a solid first season at Anfield.
Oxlade-Chamberlain shone in Liverpool’s victory against Manchester City. An unlucky injury in the UCL semifinal against Roma terminated his season early and put a stop to his Liverpool career. Alex has only played 109 games for the club in four years, scoring 14 goals and assisted on 12 others.
To put things in perspective, the 28-year-old attacker has also missed 74 games due to injuries during the same period. The English striker is still a popular part of the Reds’ team, and he has the support of the German coach.
Jurgen Klopp regards the forward as an important element of his squad, and the Reds turned off offers for his services last summer. While the Englishman prefers to stay put, he also enjoys playing on a regular basis. Alex, who is 28 years old, is in the peak of his career and could need more playing time, which is tough to come by at Liverpool.
