According to rumours, Chelsea has been offered the chance to recruit Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.
In the summer, the Champions League holders were interested in improving their defensive options and came close to acquiring Jules Kounde before Sevilla upped their asking price in the last days of the window.
Chelsea are still interested in signing Kounde, but Sevilla are demanding €80 million (£68.5 million), which Chelsea declined to match in August.
Thomas Tuchel’s team is now looking at other options, and according to Goal, De Ligt is one of them, with Juventus interested in a move.
According to the source, Juventus is’ready to transfer’ De Ligt because they don’t want to pay his £280,000-a-week contract.
De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, stated in an interview with Italian media last month that the Netherlands international may be sold next summer.
‘De Ligt may leave Juventus at the conclusion of the season,’ Raiola added.
‘This is how the market works; he has a lot of teams interested in his services.’
