Chelsea receive major injury boost ahead of crucial Match

Chelsea has received a significant injury boost ahead of their meeting against their arch-rivals.
Raphael Varane, a defender for Manchester United, walked off in their 2-2 draw with Atalanta on Tuesday night, and the Frenchman might miss the match against Chelsea.

Raphael Varane sustained a hamstring injury in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Atalanta on Tuesday evening, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Varane was replaced in the second half of last week’s 2-2 draw in Bergamo, and Solskjaer stated afterward that the France international had hurt his hamstring.

This means United might be without the French central defense against Chelsea on November 28 and then against Arsenal at Old Trafford a few days later.

This is a major setback for Solskjaer, who has shown his worth on the field for United this season, particularly given the team’s recent defensive troubles. With Varane in the lineup, United has won four of its six Premier League games this season.

After the game, Man United manager Jose Mourinho told BT Sport: “He was aware of the tightness in his hamstring. So, sadly, you can’t take any chances. When he’s on the field, Rafa has such a soothing presence. We didn’t get him back, but that’s football.”

Varane is expected to miss three to four weeks of activity due to injury, according to a recent report from French news site L’Equipe.

Harry Maguire has lately been chastised for his performances, with the Manchester United captain unable to match his summer form at the European Championships for England.

Arsenal and Chelsea will be hoping that Man United’s good form continues in the weeks ahead of their matches against Solskjaer’s team.

Man United won a crucial three points against Tottenham on Saturday evening, essentially costing Nuno Espirito Santo his job at Spurs, with Solskjaer’s squad rebounding from a humiliating loss to Liverpool six days before.
