Kai Havertz Makes Strong Statement Ahead of Chelsea’s Clash vs Leicester City

Chelsea will face Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and Kai Havertz’s recent performance for Germany against Armenia is only good news.

The 22-year-old scored in his country’s 4-1 victory against Armenia on Sunday night, giving them nine victories from ten games in their World Cup qualifying group.

After hitting the post in the fifth minute, Havertz scored inside 15 minutes, guiding a Jonas Hofmann cross into the goal.

In the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who have both been sidelined with injuries in recent weeks, the striker has been spearheading the Chelsea attack.

It’s unclear if any of them will be fit for the trip to the King Power Stadium, given they accelerated their rehabilitation over the international break.

However, Havertz’s goal-scoring exploits for his nation auger well for Thomas Tuchel and the Blues when they return to domestic action.

Chelsea will also be helped by Mason Mount’s expected comeback after missing England duty due to dental surgery.

The Blues will want to put a disappointing 1-1 draw against Burnley before the November international break behind them if they are to maintain their championship push at the top of the league.
