Lionel Messi transfer message as PSG lure Arsenal into £45m Barcelona decision- Edu must ignore.

Mikel Arteta must ignore Lionel Messi’s Arsenal transfer message, as Edu has handed down a £45 million judgment.

As the next transfer window approaches, Edu and Mikel Arteta will be working together to identify a few potential signing targets for Arsenal.

Arsenal may be tempted to trawl the free agency market after spending over £150 million in the summer to commemorate the start of the Gunners’ new transfer process, which shortlists some of the world’s most promising prospects under the age of 23.

Clubs may initiate pre-contractual discussions with players whose contracts with foreign clubs expire in January; this strategy allowed Paris Saint-Germain to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, and Gini Wijnaldum for free during the summer.

While stars like PSG’s Kylian Mbppe, Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, and Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger have made headlines as players whose contracts are about to expire, Arsenal must avoid Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele, who has been hailed as a prodigy and a potential ‘one of the greatest’ by Lionel Messi, has achieved a new accomplishment that will be hard to be repeated in football – but not for the right reasons.

The 23-year-old winger made his comeback from injury for Catalan against Dyanmo Kiev in the Champions League, although it was his third boss since arriving in 2017.

Every time he has returned from a significant injury at Barcelona, the manager has been terminated days later: Ernesto Valverde in 2020, Quique Setien in 2020, and most recently Ronald Koeman.

For many supporters, a trade for Dembele seems appealing, but Arteta must risk succumbing to the Frenchman’s curse or merely his injury-prone habits.

When healthy, the France international would join Dembele on the right, Emile Smith Rowe or Bukayo Saka on the left, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the centre to form one of the Premier League’s most dangerous and free-flowing assaults.

In true Dembele manner, he followed up his comeback from injury against Dynamo Kiev with another injury, bringing his total time out to 665 days since joining Barcelona to 1,501 days.

If Arteta is still interested in resurrecting Arsenal’s 18-month-old interest in the winger, as reported by The Sun, Edu would be faced with a transfer dilemma.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners transfer director may either activate Dembele’s £44.5 million price tag or wait until the Frenchman is available on a free transfer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are currently in a situation where Barcelona might challenge Edu for the role of trickster as the Catalan club plots his contract extension.
