Kai Havertz is almost certain to start Chelsea’s Premier League match against Norwich, according to Thomas Tuchel.
With Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku out injured, Havertz was expected to play, but his manager has now strongly hinted at his inclusion.
Tuchel spoke about Havertz starting the game before of the encounter.
He said: “Without Romelu we thought we can play with Timo or Kai as a number nine. You maybe call it a false nine, for me not so much because Kai is also very strong in the last line and behind it and arriving in the box. For me it is a big strength of him. When he plays a number nine we want this and he did against Malmo. So this is what we expect from him tomorrow
Havertz will be eager to add to his goal from midweek, as Chelsea will need at least three points to maintain their lead in the Premier League standings at this early stage.
Due to the absence of Lukaku and Werner due to injuries, Havertz now has the opportunity to shine after a shaky start to the season.
Against Saturday, the Blues take on the Canaries in an early kick-off at 12:30 p.m.
